My wife's and my experience working closely with Steve Oates over numerous years to close on our home was nothing less than outstanding. Here's just a few important traits that Steve possesses which separates him from others in the industry: 1. Easy access, communication and hard working - whenever I reach out to Steve, he either responded immediately or he returned my message shortly afterwards. Additionally, every request I had of Steve was progressed, be it 'trouble shooting', resource investigating, etc. Lastly, Steve has established a strong reputation with important stakeholders in the real estate community that enables a smooth transaction: local bankers and mortgage brokers, title agents, lawyers, etc. 2. Advocacy - Steve regularly stepped-up to play the advocate role in fighting for our interests with counterparties in the real estate transaction. Most people would just step aside and let the buyers fight for their own interests. Steve, regularly stepped into the ring to fight for on our behalf. 3. Tenacity - Due to the nature of our difficult and prolonged transaction with the developer and builder of our property, it was apparent that only a committed agent with solid core values would endure a 3.5year transaction. Steve pushed to close the transaction as hard on day 1,230 as he did on day one. As they saying goes, "buyer beware". This adage extends to the choice you make in representation of your real estate representation.

We were so fortunate to find Stephen. It was a pleasure working with him. He is super familiar and knowledgable about the Portsmouth market. He quickly got a great sense of our needs/desires and read all the players on both sides well (including the sellers and their agents) making it easy to arrive at a win-win deal for all. We are thrilled with our new home and attribute a painless process to Stephen.

Steve Oates is a gem. He guided us through the process of purchasing a great house when we were 1500 miles away. He warned us that we had to plan to visit the house and place a bid on it earlier than we had anticipated, and he informed us about all procedures that were involved. He educated us about electronic signatures, had a splendid rapport with the sellers' agent, recommended an insurance agent and helped us with our concerns that the agent had not written up a policy that was sufficient, recommended a delightful house inspector, answered all our questions, and guided us through a very smooth and speedy closing. I can't say enough about our comfort level in dealing with Steve. He not only is very professional; he is also incredibly sympatico.

We have now worked with Steve twice -- initially, to buy a home, and this time, to sell. We have found him knowledgeable, professional, and diligent. We gladly recommend him without reservation!
